Absolutely mind blowing job! Rory arrived on time by the minute and mounted our 50 inch plasma TV within circa 40 minites charging under £30 – a task that is quoted at least 5 times more by any chain store or service. Will definitely hire again!

I wanted to give a negative review only to make sure Rory will be less busy so we can hire him again and again and again. He is the best tasker I have worked with on this platform (I’ve usually had good experiences, but not as outstanding as the work done with Rory). The task we had was a full exhibition with 11 canvasses, for a total value of more that 100k. Rory was professional and patient, he understood completely how delicate the task was and how to support us even if we kept speaking italian and changing our minds as to what goes where and how to hang these canvasses. Perfect job in the end, will hire again and again.

I offer handyman services in Leamington Spa, Warwick, Kenilworth, Stratford-upon Avon and Southam.

I can also cover Solihull, Coventry, Nuneaton and Rugby however these areas may not always be cost effective when travel and other variables are factored in.

This is generally the case for shorter jobs that are only 1 or 2 hours.

However, my hours vary depending on demand.

I encourage you to send pictures and videos via whatsapp.

This will help for a more accurate estimate.

You will then have a reasonable idea of how much it will cost based on the time estimated and my hourly rate.

Please bear in mind that occasionally a job may take longer (or less time) than anticipated as every job is different.

I will always make you aware if this is the case.

I am happy to source materials for you.

A deposit will be required for the value of the materials plus a small charge for the time taken to source the materials.

Disposal of waste and packaging is quite expensive for contractors.

This is because the waste is classed as commercial waste.

Due to the high charges for commercial waste and the time incurred, I generally do not remove waste materials and packaging.

I can remove waste and packaging if absolutely necessary but this would be chargeable.

The charge for waste removal will be based on the rates at the nearest recycling centre plus the extra time incurred.

You can view the Leamington Spa Recycle Centre’s commercial waste rates on the Warwickshire County Council website.

All bookings required a valid credit or debit card to be entered during the booking process.

You are never charged until the task has been carried out and both parties agree on the number of hours worked.

Unfortunately I cannot accept cheques as a method of payment.

Why do I have to enter my card details when booking you?

Entering your card details secures your booking slot.

You are still free to cancel and will not be charged a single penny.

Your card is never charged unless your task has been completed, you are happy with the work and we have agreed on the hours worked.

No card details are ever held on our website as we use Stripe to process card transactions.

If work does not go ahead for any reason there is a short window after which the card is removed from the system.

When will my credit card be charged?

Before you are charged, the number of hours (plus any additional costs such as materials) must be agreed by both parties.

This will normally happen at the end of the task before I leave.

Your card will then be charged the agreed amount (normally within 24 hours).

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

You can always cancel up to 24 hours before your appointment slot free of charge.

Simply use the ‘cancel appointment’ option in your booking confirmation email.

If you need to cancel within the 24 hour window of a booked appointment slot please let me know so I can try to fill it with another appointment otherwise you may be charged the minimum one hour fee.

How I work

Chances are that there isn’t a handyman or property maintenance job or task that I haven’t tackled successfully.

From flat-pack assembly, TV wall mounting, light fitting installation to replacing damaged plug socket’s, basic electrical and plumbing work, I aim to surpass my customer’s expectation’s.

I have a wide array of skills I have been able to hone, and in doing so I have been able to get rather good at what I do.

Admittedly I am somewhat of a perfectionist… with a little ocd over my tools mixed in for good measure.

Buying materials

My hourly rate covers labour and basic generic fixings only (brick rawl plugs and screws).

However, I do tend to carry an assortment of additional fixings that come in useful quite often).

As every job is different it would be impossible for me to carry every type of solution for every type of task so customers are generally expected to supply and cover the cost of materials for the task.

I am happy to advise and source materials for you but the time allocated for this is chargeable with the purchase cost covered by the customer (or added to your payment for smaller material costs).

Cost effective handyman

TaskTitan is the small handyman repairs and and property maintenance expert for you offices or workplace.

Being able to book a job with just a one hour minimum charge (two hour minimum for same day bookings) is by far the cheapest option for your office repairs or office improvements.

You can simply book me as and when you need me all through my automated booking system.

Booking is fast, simple and secure.

Zero downtime

I understand the importance of minimised downtime in the workplace therfore when you book with TaskTitan you can rest assured that disruption will be non-existent in nearly all cases.

However, if there is to be any disruption to normal business operation this will be highlighted prior to any works being undertaken in order to ensure a satisfactory solution has been agreed with yourself.

Safe practice in your workplace

I take safety in the workplace extremely seriously with nothing left to chance, after all everywhere I operate is my workplace so safety is the first thought with no exceptions.

Upon arrival at your workplace I will survey the area to carry out a risk assessment and decide on the best plan for carrying out your task efficiently and safely.

1. Make sure your handyman operates within you local area

Any handyman that takes their business SERIOUS is likely to be listed on Google’s local business section.

That’s the section with the map at the top and business names underneath it. (see image below).

I always start with Google when looking for a service in my area.

Just start by typing ‘handyman near me‘ in the search bar and you will find a list of handymen in your area.

2. Choose a handyman with positive reviews from other customers

The fastest way to establish the QUALITY of a handyman’s work is reading their reviews and viewing pictures of their work.

Google reviews are difficult to manipulate.

Therefore, it’s a great place to start when looking for a handyman.

Relying on only the reviews on the website of the handyman you are considering is usually a bad idea.

For example, you’re likely to only see reviews the website owner wants you too see.

After all the website owner will want you to book their services.

So it’s in their interest to make everything sound amazing right!

The first review section are my reviews from google being pulled in from Google My Business.

I have no control over these reviews.

The old saying goes “A picture is worth a thousand words”.

Similarly, this is true when choosing a handyman.

Check out photo’s of your handyman’s work BEFORE you book with him (or her).

As a result, you may find you SAVE yourself having to call someone like me out to fix a bodged job…

In other words, you won’t end up paying twice 😉

I always prefer to use my own photos on my website.

You can tell they are REAL as soon as you look at them.

In addition, I think it’s more appropriate for my handyman service.

Generic stock images don’t tell you any more than the text on the page.

So, you still have no idea just how good the service is that you will receive.

Let me give you an example.

Below are two photos I could use to advertise TV mounting on my website.

The photo on the left is a genuine photo of a 55inch TV I mounted for a customer a few months ago.

The second is a generic photo for TV mounting services that you might find on a website like Curry’s.

A Scenarios that might raise a red flag for you when booking a handyman would be:

Only one or two ‘generic chain store type’ photos like the photo on the right in my example.

(or even lot’s of these ‘generic style photo’s’).

They are usually easy to spot.

Due to their polished finish.

Whilst there is nothing wrong with this at face value for a service such as TV mounting,

I would only find this acceptable from a large brand such as Curry’s.

For a small handyman service you have no idea what type of quality work I offer.

Put simply, it’s a risk you should only be willing to take if the service is backed by a large company.

5. Choose a handyman that offers accountability

I’m personally not a fan of using people I will never be able to trace again.

For example, what if things go wrong?

It’s one of those thing’s that requires you to read between the lines.

A few things I would look out for when booking a handyman service would be:

Do they have a website?

Are there lots of genuine photos of work completed?

Can you see a profile picture?

Is there any video content you can watch?

Will you be covered in the event of damage?

6. Only use a handyman that carries Public Liability Insurance

This one is the most important with NO EXCEPTIONS.

If there is no mention of Insurance on the website or business listing you should definitely ask.

Don’t feel offensive for asking a handyman whether or not they have insurance.

They should be able to answer this question immediately.

Furthermore, any handyman that provides even average customer service should understand why you are asking and be happy to discuss this with you.

Consequently, if you suspect a handyman does not have insurance just don’t use them.

It’s that simple.
